Hello! I'm a Seattle based filmmaker.
I was born and raised with one foot in each Kentucky and Ohio, an interesting upbringing to say the least.. I journeyed out wild West and earned a B.A. degree at the University of Washington in Medical Anthropology and Global Health. This experience hooked me on ethnography, documentary, and the human experience- which ultimately led to work in the nonprofit sector, working in case management and shelter operations with individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as a volunteering and community organizing for various Seattle activist groups & nonprofits.
It wasn't long until I began looking for ways to intersect this community work with film, searching for ways to document and visualize disparity in an effort to humanize the suffering caused by deeply ingrained societal inequalities. I began taking classes at the Northwest Film Forum, working with a local production company as an assistant producer, and shooting various shorts and documentary projects independently, for local organizations, causes, and activist events.
I'm currently in the midst of shooting a short film that documents the rapid development and gentrification of Seattle resulting from the recent tech boom, and the wave of housing insecurity and homelessness that has followed in its path- elevating the voices of those impacted most.
To feed myself, I regularly freelance on commercials and features as an AD or set PA. I'm also an independent producer and videographer for a variety of personal and professional projects.
